Top 10 Ways to Beat the Recession

Top 10 ways to beat the recession

Well, it doesn’t take me to tell you that things in the world are very trying right now. Businesses are closing, wars, terrible natural disasters; this definitely looks like every doomsday prophecy foretold coming to pass. I for one believe that we will make it through this storm. We may be a little bit leaner on the other side, but we will make it. Hopefully, you haven’t received word this morning that your company is closing or that your home is foreclosing. If you have, we’ll just have to work that much harder. There is light at the end of the tunnel…I can’t see it…but I know it’s there.

Entrepreneur of the Week: Natalie Dylan

Follow The Advice Of Your Mentors

95 Infinity For Sale. Needs a motor.

It is no surprise that one of the most important steps in beginning your journey as an entrepreneur is to find and network with a mentor.  A mentor is someone who has “been there and done that” and is willing to show you the ropes.  By following the wise counsel of a mentor, you can avoid the mine field of mistakes that you’re bound to make starting out and lessen the learning curve.  By definition, we entrepreneurs are know-it-alls, egomaniacal, and control freaks so when you do find yourself a mentor, you’ll most likely disregard most of the advice she gives you.  The business school term for this is “pissing in the wind”.

First 5 Things I Learned About Blogging

The First 5 Things I Learned About Blogging
Blogonomic Stimulous Plan

Part of my genetic makeup is the desire, no…NEED to own my own means of subsistence. That is to say, I have got to make my own money. I have a new product that I’m working on. I won’t bore you with it now, but part of it depends on having an effective internet marketing campaign. I always swore that the world does not need another internet marketing blog and I promise that Poverty101.net is not going to be one; however, I do need to learn how to market a product through the internet so growing the popularity of this blog is the means by which I’ll do it.

Finishing My To Do List: Marketing This Blog

Getting rich is easy!

As I stated last post, I am really proud of my new addiction to getting a Productivity Buzz. I’ve been rocking like Little Richard!

One task that has taken me a bit longer to complete has been the marketing of my blog.

As an entrepreneur, I’ve learned that if there’s one thing that’s plentiful in the world, it’s experts. I was at the bookstore the other day and I picked up a popular magazine targeted at Entrepreneurs. That five dollar rag was about 95% “get rich” ads and 5% good, usable entrepreneurial advice! WTF? I Googled “blog marketing” and got 40,000,000 results. 40,000,000. Now that’s just dumb.

My To Do List Is Complete…Almost

I finally got the curtains hung in my daughters\' room

Well, I finally got the curtains hung in the girls’ room. Getting things done is therapeutic. When I was cleaning up the to do list, (What Are You Going To Do?), with every mission accomplished I felt more and more liberated. I’ve heard of physically active types getting what’s known as a “runner’s high”; I see what they mean. I experienced what I’ll henceforth term a “productivity buzz“.

Productivity Buzz - An endorphin rush produced by the getting off of one’s ass for the successive completion of predetermined tasks

You learned it here.

What Are You Going To Do?

Productivity is the key to success

One thing about successful people: they aren’t in the habit of setting a lot of goals. Poor people do that. The “Other 5%” however, they don’t bother with setting a bunch of meaningless goals and writing down things they would “like” to do.

Successful people have a nasty habit of deciding to do something and then doing it. They don’t plan to work out, or think about writing a book, or hope to get a business started. They decide to research an idea, they decide it’s worth pursuing, and then they relentlessly get it done. There is absolutely no conceivable way that the task will go incomplete. Not even a thought.

How Many Ways Are There To Get Rich?

Success or failure starts with a decision

Everyone loves rich people. We cater to them. We write magazines and books about them. We watch them on tv. The media bombards us with tales of the rich and famous on a daily basis and we suck it up. Every time I turn on the television or log onto the internet, someone wealthy is up to something new.

Initially, I was bitter about this. Did I miss some kind of meeting at which everyone but me learned how to make fat bank? Was there a universal, intricately planned secret plot to make everybody rich but me? Did God just randomly choose some individuals to live like kings and then choose me to serve them? No, no, and no.
So what the hell makes them so different than us?
